The Royal Tonga Ski Federation was founded in 2014 by will of King Tupou, with the debut of the luger Fuahea Semi, also known as Bruno Banani, at the Winter Games in Sochi in 2014. Representing alpine skiing for the Federation is the 34-year old athlete Kasete Naufahu Skeen, also known as “The Tomba of Tonga”, with his desire of becoming the first skier to carry the flag of the Kingdom of Tonga at the next Olympic Winter Games. To pursue his dream, Kasete Naufahu Skeen also moved to the ski slopes of Trentino to engage in full-time skiing.
